Anis' AEP Diaries 2.1 - Taking A Deep Breath

🎀  Season 2: Episode 1  🎀  Friday, 1st December 2023  Safe to say that term two has been going on exactly the way that I did not plan. Why you may ask? In total, I have missed out on almost all AEP classes this term. I did still involve some self-blaming for not being able to catch up with the pace of the school due to my absences, but because I understood how important mindsets are, I’ve begun to look at it with a different perspective. It’s truly alright to be on a different path than everyone else because we all are different. There should be an ideal recommendation on a certain path that can merely act as a guide, but there shouldn’t be one that you must completely follow even if it goes against your natural likings. We all get to our destination differently.  Regardless of that, I’m back on track in attending AEP lessons and are gearing up to start and finish the term strong.  Anyway, for the past few weeks, I have gone through three-mo...

Blog 2.1 - New Term New Me (Nurhanis Grade 12)

Okay so how do I start. It's been a while since I've written something after all the "drama" in the first term. Anyways a new term means a new chapter being unfolded. "A fresh start" people say. I don't know how many times that phrase has been used.  For the first AEP classes, it went a lot (like a lot) smoother than thought. I was scared to enter the class at first because of the tension we had last term. The layout of the class changed. It felt more like a discussion table than a class which I think is a good thing. I also love the idea of implementing back the "traditional" way of learning where we don't use technology. I mean technically we still do but not as much.  I don't think people know what happens when they wear a certain outfit. The image or personality is being reflected to what we wear whether we are conscious about it or not. And that is what we learned about. I mean discussed about. Our first lesson was very chill to sa...

Blog 2.1 - “my grandma went to the market…” - Huda G11

Hmmmm, I wanna say I’m a bit late but in true honesty I’m REALLY REALLY late in posting this blog so forgive me Ms Disa T-T I just want to start off by saying how much I LOVE THE NEW STARTER that we’ve been doing in the last few classes. It really wakes your mind up and I think we all get out a few giggles and laughter each morning as we play “my grandma went to the market..”, though I can never forgive those people who choose really long words to repeat as it gradually gets to my turn >:( We started a new topic for this term and I must say that I really enjoy it. It’s always fun to learn new ways to describe how awful someone’s personality is in many ‘big boy’ words :) But speaking seriously, I find it amusing to how many words I have yet to learn even though I have spoken English my whole life. I look forward to using or seeing these new vocabulary in the mere future.

Blog 2.2 - Ayşe

Hello everyone!  Last week's class started with an unfinished quardle game which we completed in a flash. After playing the short exercise game, it was time to continue giving short descriptions of our topics about psychology in fashion. William went first. His topic was all about the sociology behind the colors in uniforms. I couldn't clearly hear what he said while giving a brief summary of his topic, due to my worsening hearing problems but basically what colors people wear to work can show how they feel at that moment or basically it is another way of them expressing themselves to the people around them, even if that is without realization. After William shared his ideas, Miss Disa also added a few more points from his paper, and I was quite taken in shock by how much just a piece of clothing can show so much. It was then my turn to share my topic with the class. My topic was all about how uniforms affect the working environment, especially customer perceptions in the UAE. ...

Hyeono kim vocab 2

Last week was a very simple week that we really didn't do something new aside from the other vocals Nov 20 We started a quordle and we got it wrong so fast that we did it again and again that miss allowed us before practicing vocab quiz and I was already stressed out that there is vocab again, After that we reviewed vocabs and finished it so fast that we did a contexto and ended it while doing puzzles. Nov 21 This was the vocab quiz day, as always we start our quordle and did it it was the type of spinning the wheel ams answering, and as always I got the first question wrong and that was sad cause I was the only one who got the first question wrong and this taught me that I'm really weak in understanding English and we did a other puzzle after it.

Cho Kuk AEP blog (sorry I forgot to send it)

2023/11/7 Today I was doing the game I dont remember the name but we use half of the period which I found it very long then I started going on with the practice and that was it we went waffle deluxe since we had time left so we used it. 2023/11/13 we did contexto this afternoon which took us about 100 guesses then we started doing some seatwork that I found really difficult because Im not good at english then we did deluxe waffle for the rest because we finished early. 2023/11/14 Today we did quordle which was ok for my view. Then we readed the sentences from dogonews which I had difficulty in the last part it was funny when the moment we got bored miss disa looked for some other stuff instead of those BORING LAME!!! science facts A CHICKEN!!! thats what I knew the moment I saw a chicken since I didnt wanna make noise I stayed quiet until I realized everyone was laughing about the chicken so I acted like I understand and fake laughed then soon we did the facts and that was it. 202...

AEP Blog #2.2 “Pen and paper”

(Before I start, I would just like to add how long it has been since I last put a generic title. Oddly enough I really could not think of a good one. I love titles… this is something I won’t forget.)  A pleasant good day to you dear reader~ Welcome back to another special blog made by yours truly. [Just imagine I am throwing heart emojis over here.. PEW PEW!] As I sit down to write another blog, it's hard to think that December is just around the corner. Honestly you can hear all the christmas music(eveb 2x louder than before.. not saying it didn’t start in september!!!).Its crazy to me that in just two days, we’ll reach the final month of 2023. Time was such (and is still) an ungraspable concept to me. And to go more into this situation — the Student Parliament has been more stressed than ever. I really wanted us to start prepping for the year end party much earlier but It wasn’t possible because everyone is so busy. To note that this program is one of the biggest programs we’ll b...

Greetings 2nd Term!- Meral- AEP 10- Blog 1

This second semester in AEP class commenced with Squardle– one of the most frequently played warm-up games in our class for good reasons. We ended up with 50 out of 79 words, 11 of which were already pre-filled by another grade level. As always, Squardle was an exciting morning exercise, a mental stretch that primed us for the day ahead.  In addition, Kirani, a new student, was welcomed to our AEP class. After previously convincing her on the wonders of AEP, she decided to settle in. Yay! I hope she feels welcomed and has adjusted to the way things go around here <33. As Squardle went on for the majority of the period, Miss Disa distributed our finals, consisting of the two essays we had each written. Although I’m satisfied with my score, there are improvements I’ll try to implement for my future essays this semester.  The following day, I was absent because I had pulled a late nighter without coffee, whilst completing an English assignment. For these reasons, I overslept t...

AEP-Blog #7

Welcome back to my blogg!!! Wow we are already on blog 7!!! That felt quite fast if you ask. Let's cut straight to it and see what Grade 8 has done this week: On the first day of the week, we started with Squaredle. But there were only a few words left for us to guess, and lucky for us, the words were quite simple. So we managed to guess all the words in about 5 minutes or so. After that, we did Quordle, and we may or may not have cheated just a little bit. Since we refused to lose by not guessing all the 4 words, we refreshed the page to start a new game. We managed to guess all the 4 words with the refreshed game, and Ms made us play a couple more times.  After that, we did a review for Vocab quiz 7. Like the usual, we were assigned 1 or 2 words (all of us got 2 this time because we were an even number that day) and mine were jaunty and juncture. Then we searched their definitions online. When we all finished doing that, Ms presented the quiz on the board and we all answere...

"Pen" - BLOG T2- JANEK - AEP10

After a whirlwind of excitement and laughter, it's only fitting to encapsulate the experiences in the virtual pages of this blog. Blogger, our faithful chronicler, has been witness to the tapestry of our past, each week unfurling a new chapter of memories while revisiting the old ones. Despite the time-consuming nature of this ritual, the fulfillment it brings is unmatched. As I sit down to weave the narrative of this week, a sense of anticipation lingers - a promise that this blog may just be more interesting than the rest. Curious? Dive into the text, and the reasons will unfold with each word. Squaredle: The unlikely death of me In the realm of our classroom, Squaredle has emerged as both ally and adversary, a captivating force that has swept through the student body. Its magnetic pull is undeniable, leaving us craving more, making it the undisputed game of choice. My fondness for Squaredle is genuine, but as the saying goes, every rose has its thorn. The coveted chance to contr...

Blog 2.2 - Psychology of Fashion [Izzah] Gr12

The Psychology of Fashion, Colours Today in class we began our lesson with an unfinished quardle and continued on our previous topic, whereby we discussed the psychology of fashion. While last week each of us provided a summary of our given text, this week we reviewed and were able to fully discuss our opinions and thoughts on these very important matters. Our main discussion focused on Williams's paper which discussed the sociology behind the colours of uniform. After his brief outline on his paper, Miss Disa gave us a kind of psychological activity wherein each of us would write on a blank paper the emotions that come up in our minds when she says a specific color, like for example, "red", I think it is associated with passion, love, hate. So yeah, it was very interesting to hear each and every one's perspective and connotations to different colors. Ms.Disa mentions that our perspectives may all be nurtured in the environment and culture in which we tend to grow. I ...

blog 2 sem 2

The day was an ordinary day for me,but I was looking forward to AEP because I had a free period ticket. It was given to whoever did the assignments Miss Disa gave and actually completed it all. While the others did the usual routine of warm up games, I was allowed to use my headphones and sleep and etc.it was actually an invisibility ticket. That shows that hard work really pays off in the end. I don't think I can get one this semester because I had missed two weeks of school so I didn't know what to write for the blog but this is still enough I guess for me. There's always next semester. this is my cat.

Miss Aleena! - Blog 2.2 - Aire M.

I'm back mga balakubak! (Fyi, this is a famous Filipino saying. Balakubak means dandruff, but we just use it since it rhymes.) Welcome to my wonderful AEP blog! Miss told us that she didn't mind a long blog; she actually liked it. Aleena was ecstatic as she has gone over 700 words already. I was just glad that I could rant  talk to my heart's content. I can be really talkative, so these blogs let me just talk about my experiences and thoughts, which I love since I was always interested in the idea of a journal. I've never had the time for it though. Anyways! This is getting way off topic. And here, I present, my blog! It's just me rambling. 11/20/23 We kicked things off with a small victory on our belt, demolishing Squaredle as there were only about 5 words left. Since we were so speedy, we did Quordle and cheated by resetting the tab (hehe). After completing 2  Quordle  games, we learned vocab #7. Aleena studied the vocab beforehand, so Miss made her the "te...

Blog 2.2 - Adi's Inferno - 6th circle

Wee woo I'm running out of circles to write about!!! Eh, it'll be fine. Once I finish the 9th circle I'll just add onto it with the 10th circle. The circles in Adi's inferno are infinite apparently. Anyways, how was this week? Besides the occasional stress of the up-coming stem congress (I will be slowly burning my skin alive for this oh god why is this happening). Safe to say I very much enjoy Stem Congress (No I DO NOT it is HELL THIS IS WHY I DIDN'T WANT TO JOIN STEM) I was on the brink of crying my eyes out when our biology teacher gave us a jumpscare this Monday where we'll be having a quiz on Wednesday!!! That's right, a quiz on the day that we have AEP! I was worried as all heck when I got this news I was screaming crying and throwing up (This is an exaggeration. I am just fine, thank you). Nevertheless, I aced the quiz (As yours truly always does) or at least I hope I did. I didn't study as much as I should for t hat quiz so safe to say I wasn...

Blog 2.1 - Adi's inferno - 5th circle

WELCOME WELCOME TO TERM 2!!!!! My my what a fun day! So much went down in the last two weeks of the first and second AEP meetings of the new term. But first, let me rant about the finals. Oh my god.  STRESS STRESS STRESS!! No better way to describe finals. I'm not sure if this is just because this is the first finals for this new year but good heavens what the actual heck was that. I know Grade 11 isn't easy but good god! You know what the worst part about all that stress was? I had plans of studying at one of my favorite cafes for my exams and yet I was bestowed the misfortune of having that cafe be full for the day that I needed to study before the exams. I cried as I reviewed at home because let me tell you, there was nothing I hated more than studying at home. I never get enough focus and nothing goes to my brain. (Part of the reason why I often stay after school to do my work) Anyways, regardless of all that, the exams went pretty well (for me at least). I had the worst ...

Aleena Imran - Blog #2 Term 2 - Grade 8A

Howdy, readers! I’m back with another blog, not sure how long it’s gonna be. But you know, it’ll always be a good one! Let’s not keep you waiting, here we go!  Yet Another week, another blog. Not that surprising anymore as we write blogs once a week. I can say this week was quite ordinary. Wake up, go to school, go back home and study. Quite the usual routine, isn’t it?  As we head further in the term, the closer we get to our exams. Which basically means, more assignments, homework and tests! Eugh, quite the stress isn’t it? Welp, can’t do anything about it. Join me as I  reflect on my past week.  Without further ado, let the chaos begin!  Nov 20, 2023 - Tackling the Class As usual, we began with our warmup, Squardle. Since the other grades did it before us, there were only around ten words left. Adelia and Hyeono were guessing most of them, so we completed the warmup pretty quickly. I think I wasn’t even able to guess a word because of how fast they wer...

Nurin's AEP Adventure (Term 2 #2)

Hi again!!! It's me, about to dump everything regarding my past week. I must say that I have progressed A LOT since last week and I couldn't be more proud of myself. I did most work on the day it was assigned and has not yet leave my notes pending or incomplete. A little appreciation pat on the back for me please. But, above all that minor growth I can't help but think of the possibility of relapsing into bad habits. Ways to avoid that? I have no idea but I'm telling you I'm doing everything I can to steer away from that side. This makes me realize that procrastination was the virus all along, and all I had to do to keep my mental health from being 'abused' by school is just to complete works before it overloads. I hope my mental capacity is strong this term because there are goals that I want to achieve.  Anyways, AEP was yet again refreshing this week. We had a really open and breezy discussion about the connection of 'Fashion' and 'Psychology...

AEP Blog #2.2 “A new ambiance is always welcomed”

Good day dear reader! Welcome back to a freshly baked blog by yours truly~  This blog will be a little short unfortunately! I’ll call it the catch-up blog. Just what exactly have we been up to since the start of the second term? Its been around 2 weeks now, so lets see just how well we were able to manage our time for those two days.  Lets get right into it!  The first meeting of the second term (that was after our sem break) was a very cold one. Im not sure about my other classmates but I definitely felt cold that day, I think it was because of the weather or I wasn’t feeling well that morning? Regardless, I remember feeling very chilly that day. Ms Disa introduced a new game that tested all of our memories! It was so much fun honestly; just thinking about that meeting makes me chuckle because its so silly just how much we wanted to elongate the game. It was if our grandma went to the market, what would she buy? And so, we’d constantly repeat and add one more item ...

Ayşe - Blog 2.1

Hello readers! I just came back from my volleyball training, I'm exhausted and sore, so I'm typing this blog on my bed right now. I am enjoying it, to say the least.  In today's blog, I'll be talking about my first class in AEP for 2nd Trimester on November 15, 2023. When we were having lunch during the day I was curious about what we would be doing in AEP after the bell rang. I was once again late because of something I can't seem to remember even now.  When I opened the door to the room, I saw everyone doing Quardle and so I joined them in while carrying 3 bags of who knows what, even Miss Disa asked whether I was moving houses. Later, I settled down and Miss Disa announced the instructions for the new task given for the day. We were all basically given papers on topics of the"Psychology of Fashion". In our first period, we analyzed our papers. My topic was “The Psychology of Corporate Uniforms: How Appearance Influences Customer Perception in the UAE”. ...

New Term, New Face!! [Humaira Rahid Naboni;Term-2, Blog-1]

Hello Everyone! Welcome to the first blog of Term 2! It's the start of another term and AEP has to introduce us to a new topic! But hey, before that, there is a new AEP member now! Kirani!! She joined FIS just in the 2nd Term and on her first day, she was thrown into the decision to choose between AEP and Filipino. I sort of used some advertising skills (learned in English) to persuade our new friend, Kirani, to join our beloved AEP class. Being an Indonesian girl, I am pretty much sure she would have joined AEP anyway but I would love to think my advertising did some help! I am happy to say that she is now a part of our AEP class Now let's go through all the classes we had so far. On the very first day, it was Monday morning and our warm-up game was Squaredle. Miss Disa gave Kirani the rein over the magic pen. If I were her I would freak out at such responsibility on the very first day, given that, forming the words in Squardle can be quite a challenge. She pulled ...

Mysha M - T2 BLOG 1

Here I am yet again, 3 am, on my half-working desktop, reminiscing about my recent AEP experiences. Welcome back, it's been a minute.  And just like that, we're already on the second term. I swear it was just yesterday when I was writing my first entry, hurriedly emailing it, as my blogger account had repeatedly failed to work. Crazy how time flies. But with all the mischief of term one, I'm grateful to see the refresh and new beginnings we'll have in this new term! Hopefully by now, I've properly adjusted. Well, what's with all the slacking? Without further ado, let's keep a deep dive into my last two weeks in AEP! On the very first day, Miss Disa decieded to graciously bless us with another vocabulary quiz! Quite surprising for the very begining of the term. After a lengthy squaredle session, we began revising. Miss granted us two words each, which we'd have to find the meaning of, and answer on the board when it came up. It's not that easy, unfor...

Last week blog nov 13 and 14 btw(hyeono)

Nov 13 We had a happy contexto that someone was carrying and learned about water, yes a water a lot of type of water, some kind of river, sea and others and it was pretty hard for me, I didn't knew that I wouldn't know water. I was searching Google for the answer and I think I used 3/4 of the question that made me feel stupid, but im stupid and did waffle because finished it so fast cause it's water, it was one of the good day with no vocab stuff. Nov 14 This day we didn't have anything to do that we went to dogonews, I don't know what it is but it was just a site for news, we red it each by turns and when we are done with 1 news, we have to tell the facts that the news told and this was hard, I was using my brain to make it easy but peoples who are answering faster than me took the easier ones. We red two news one about the galaxy and the other one about chicken, it was a weird science and a kid news, it was a very good week that we did t even talked about vocab q...

term 2 thing 1

Welp another term of doing this. So uh... it's been a fine week for Aep, not that difficult and something like that. I'm never going to get used to writing these, am I? Uh, what else do I say... I guess I could say about how after the weekend ends I'm never prepared for school or how I keep forgetting stuff but honestly, I have nothing more to say here.

AEP T2 BLOG 1 - Summer Rose S. Valdez

I have probably said this before, but I will say it again:  It's been a while since the last blog!  With Term 1 left behind our backs, we now face a new trimester of AEP.   A new chapter.  After experiencing the first trimester, the bar for this term must be very high.  I sure do hope Term 2 is just as fun and informative as the previous, or perhaps even more!  Speaking of which, I must improve myself as well.  Now looking at a fresh, blank, page, I am ready to take on what lies ahead.  Without further ado,  allow me to swiftly run my fingers along the keyboard and reminisce the happenings of the past weeks, once again. poo               November 6 - Surprise!!  Vocabulary Quiz!!              The very first thing we did this term was Squaredle.  Ah, Squaredle, one of the rare games that seem to b...

Blog 2.1 - A New Start [Izzah] Gr12

A New Start Term 2 has started and looked back term 1 was HELL, well actually it wasn’t that bad but it was that bad. I had millions of assignments due every day all day, and as the list grew I grew more lazy and really unmotivated, to the point I didn’t have the energy to eat or do anything. I was in a really bad slump. However, near the end of the term, I finally got the energy to work it back up and plan what I was to do next.  I got up and decided that if I could not get anything done at home, I would have to do it at school, and that’s what I did, nonstop work and work for two weeks to catch up on my overdue work, and just as the timer runs out, I’ve reached the finish line. School may seem overwhelming at most times, you feel like the pile of work u have to do may never end. However, being consistent and hardworking will certainly pay off. All you need is the first step, the first step to reach the end. The First Class of Term 2 The first AEP class was nice, but I was a bit h...

New Chapter- Haziq -Blog 1 T2- AEP 10

Welcome back ladies and gentlemens, boys and girls to my blog and I'm back again to recap on what happened in the last few  weeks. Although term two just started, a lot of things have happened and new face can be seen. As I previously mentioned, Kirani, a 15-year-old student from Indonesia, is our  new classmate. Miss bestowed Kirani the magic pen to begin the week. Interestingly, our warm-up game that day was Squardle, and I already knew that she would struggle because of Janek. As she struggled to figure out how to use the smart board, words  began to come in, and as a result, Janek was nearly permanently banned from ever playing Squardle again.I guess luck wasn't on her side because it was one of our longest squardle game and she had to through the whole period of Janek just shouting random words. The following day, our aep lesson resumed as usual, but before anything else, warm-up activities are essential. I sensed something was off when I walked into the classr...
