Blog 2.3 - Adi's inferno - 7th circle

Happy New Years! Our new year has been nothing short of hectic. January is just about to end and so am I getting closer to ending it all (I'm joking) Besides that, how has life been for us? The Stem Congress is straight up a mess and I'm so glad it's behind us (for now). We'll still have to continue with working on our other experiments as well as making a final paper and whatnot. Besides that, life is a little free (except for the barrage of quizzes getting thrusted upon us). It's still crazy to me how finals is still not for a while! They might be edging us with the looming feeling of doom of hell slowly creeping upon our figure in the form of shadows hanging over our bedside lamp. But who am I to say? The first two weeks of AEP was quite uneventful. With Miss Disa being gone, we had some free time and  we also played some word games to occupy ourselves in the mean time.  When she returned, we started with more new vocabularies! The topic this time is homelessnes...

Blog 2.4 - College Essays [Izzah] Gr12

College Essays For the two first classes after coming back from Christmas break, Ms. Disa was absent, she left us with some videos to work on and activities. I was a little nervous, afraid I was going to have to write a full college essay right upon coming back after a long break. However, I was surprised to find out that these activities handed to us weren't tedious, but instead helped us discover ourselves further. Activities exploring what we liked, our interests, things we value, and our opinions on ourselves. Despite how easy it sounds, I feel it requires a lot of thinking. Thinking about ourselves is hard actually, putting everything we like into words. Finding out what really matters, what is really important. Is difficult. Perhaps it's because we tend to become something we are not, we have expectations for ourselves, often manifesting, or labeling us as something we strive to become but not actually what or who we are now. When Ms. Disa came back from vacation, we star...

Blog 2.5 | Alisa | Grade 11

Welcoming 2024 First blog of the year! I've honestly been enjoying this year's topics as it's much less difficult and easier to manage. We've been learning new vocabulary, and this time, it's more about poverty. I used to feel apprehensive going to AEP class since sometimes it did overwhelm me a little with the assignments (even if there was no homework). B since AEP in grade 11 began, it’s much much less to shoulder. To add, I genuinely appreciate how most of our work is now on paper instead of virtual. It’s a lot less stressful to have to use a device — especially with all the technical issues and connection problems that come with it. Thank you miss for making our classes more engaging and socially interactive! I’m looking forward to our next classes now hehe Till next time !!

AEP Blog #2.4 “Half a term, half a term”

Welcome to 2024 folks~ I really wanted to make this blog have your typical blog introduction that you see on this page but lets make it a little more personal this time.   This interesting academic chapter of my life will surely come with twists, Im sure my classmates are wondering about the same thing of themselves.Since 1st semester has finished, and the half of 2nd semester has as well — leaves us with another half. But whats interesting about this half is how much faster time will fly here in comparison to the earlier ones. It feels like as if it is the end of the year, and its not helping when we have several responsibilities packed up — its much more easier to lose yourself in the concept of time.  NOW! On to the good stuff — an introduction of AEP 2024. For the games we play in class, I always find the most fun whike playing contexto. I think I remember explaining how the game works in a previous blog, so I wont this time. However, that meeting we played contexto...

blog 2.4…5 ?? - huda g11

Its almost finalsssssss !! My heart pounds achingly every time I remind myself that finals is crawling closer. There’s too many things piling up on us this half term and it’s been straying me away from my studies quite a bit. Especially now that my AS levels are closing in, just adds on more to the pressure. In AEP we’ve started a new topic and i’m really liking the unit this time as the terms are much more easier to understand and memorise. I really appreciate miss Disa in incorporating paper-based learning rather than using too much technology, I feel like i’ve really missed the more inclusive and interactive feeling to learning new things, it’s reminded me of primary school all the way back before the pandemic happened. As a bigger class now, it feels more lively and there’s more conversation to pms thrown around as we all sit in a circle? square? around each other. This makes me feel better as I can actually interact with those in front of me rather than everyone having to sta...

Blog 2.5 irfan

Last week. I hate last week. Last week was the most hated week for me so far for this school year. Everyone was busy panicking about their STEM, ABM, HUMMS reseaech congress. Everything went good but yes, I still hate it. The reason why I i hate it is not because the research is hard to make and bla bla bla, it was because they gave STEM more time than the rest of the students which I found it not fair. The school really drained me because of it, but good enough, compare when I was in grade 10 where it has to be a science related topic. This year i got to do something I'm really passionate in.  But, Friday...Friday...Friday. It was the best and most relaxing day ever after those hard academic stuff. Our school had a field trip on that day, maybe because the school wanted us to relax after such a tiring week. We went to Jose Rizal museum. I do not have any intention to insult the Filipinos, but it was boring. And our peak of the day, ENCHANTED KINGDOM!!!!! We did so many thing...

BLOG 3 I THINK

Today's class was quite enjoyable. We kicked things off with our usual warm-ups, followed by an engaging game of Contexto. Miss added depth to our discussions by exploring collocation questions, making the class more interesting. Unfortunately, our Wednesday classes got shorter due to club activities, but we still managed to cover Unit 5, delving into intriguing topics like poverty. Surprisingly, I found myself genuinely interested in the material, especially the exploration of new words and concepts. Looking ahead, I'm excited about the prospect of diving deeper into this topic in future classes. Overall, the class struck a balance between fun and learning, making me look forward to our linguistic exploration in the upcoming sessions..

yet another blog for this week

yet again we do the thing where we type what we remember about the stuff that happened this week. So, there's not much tbh, there isn't much going on other than I picked up EP again since I think I'm suffering withdrawal with notoriety getting taken down and I'm cooking some video I made with someone showcasing some stupid shenanigans. So yeah is fine cruising so far (but so far)

AEP T2 BLOG 5 - Summer Rose S. Valdez

What a delight!  It has felt like the year of AEP has just begun, yet so much has happened.  An utter blast of new information, skill-learning, and laughter.  Laughter and an appropriate amount of pain.  I truly am grateful that I am given the opportunity to reminisce and unravel what happened because, oh boy, is there a lot.                            January 22 - A Blessing In The Disguise Of Science          As the warmup of the day is revealed, I could feel an overwhelming amount of dread fill my thoughts.  Squaredle: one of the most difficult warmups we've faced.  And we have faced plenty.  Squaredle never fails to challenge me and make me strenuously rack my mind, desperate for any new word to fall out of what, at the moment, seemed like an empty shell of skull.  What made this even more difficu...

✨Rollercoaster of emotions✨AEP- BLOG#5 -Naboni

Hello, everyone! Welcome to the blog for this week Last week was a crazy ride with all the presentations, debate, and STEM Congress. But, all of it was wrapped up with an amazing field trip which added to my realm of best memories in FIS. (Though almost died during the space shuttle–still recovering<33).  Last week’s AEP went by smoothly. We also have another new face in the class- Welcome Victoria! I am glad there is another girl in our class!! On monday, Miss Disa completely brightened up my day by handing me the magic wand to play WAFFLE! It had been so long since I last played that I had forgotten how to play. But my classmates were clearly doing a lot of helping, but shouting the words and the pattern all at the same time. Anyway though, the game was short and it only took us a while to finish. After that Miss Disa asked us to write the same essay on cement/ concrete production but we were not allowed to copy it down from our earlier written essay. At the end of our class...

AEP- Term2Blog#4-Naboni(Forgot to post before☹️)

Hey there, everyone! It's so great to be connecting with you all through our first blog post of the year 2024. A little late but a very Happy New Year to you all! I hope you guys are doing well and keeping up with your New Year's resolutions. As for me, after a long break, coming back to school was quite a challenge. But after spending the whole week rotting in bed, getting back on track was possibly the best thing for my body. Anyway, let me catch you up with the AEP class progression. Miss Disa was still enjoying her lovely vacation in her sweet homeland in the UK, so we were bound to stay in our homeroom with the Filipino students. As Sir Macky was absent as well, we got Sir Whey as our substitute teacher. He passed Miss Disa's instructions to complete two essays already posted in our Google Classroom. While the Filipino students were reciting their coursebook in groups, we, the AEP students, were focused on writing down the assigned essays. I tried to do essay number 1 ...

Zahrah’s Blog 2.5

(The pizza i ate that day)😊👍(it was good)🤌 I felt confident mostly for the vocab quiz on this week! I think i pretty much aced it, because i got my own random words correct and even answered for others mistakes sometimes. 🥳🥳🥳 😅I think i missed doing one exit ticket this week though.😅 Hopefully this experience continues for any future AEP vocab quizzes!!!💪

Struck Down Like Lightning — Leo's Fifth Second-Term Blog!

Monday morning is when all the fun begins! We started with a wonderful game of Squard— I mean, Waffle! It is, of course, all of our favorite game to play on a wonderful morning! Nothing like a good word-making through combining different letters in a line! Hope that rings a bell. Nonetheless, we did do the exercise a wee bit too fast, maybe a little too-too fast? Sans the screaming at Naboni, we sure did do a pretty superb performance on a regular website! It was a very simple game. Welcoming a new student to the class (once again), Victoria joins the party! And then she was bombarded by another essay ... nothing like a good first-hour essay. It was another essay about concrete production which we have seen a good three or four times, so not only was I well-acquainted with it, but I was spectacularly writing as fast as a lightning bolt striking an umbrella, which supposedly happens—never seen it happen in real life (and hoping it does not happen to me). It was a challenge because ...

AEP-Blog #9

SECOND BLOG OF THE YEAR! LETS DO THIS!!! Starting of the first lesson of the week, we warmed up with Squaredle. And surprisingly we managed to find all 70 words in one period!!! YAY US! Then, we reviewed for vocab quiz 10. The word that was a bit challenging for me to remember was the word upbraid. I just couldn't seem to get the definition in my head.  After that activity, we did a worksheet as our final assignment for the day. The topic was about science and maths. EUGH! Not that I find it bad or anything, actually no it was kind of bad. I don't think we should talk about those subjects in AEP. BUT it was what the worksheet was about and we did it anyway. Honestly it was quite tedious work to do, and I may or may not have done things ahead than most others even though Ms repeatedly said not to. ehhehehehheehe My least favourite activity was 'Part 2:Question 1' where we had to skim the long passage and label sections for what they refer to. I just felt like length of ...

Winners?- Meral- AEP 10- Blog 5

The week kicked off with Waffle, a word game that involves rearranging given letters to form a grid of words- a challenge we swiftly conquered. Although this is not one of my personal favorite, I enjoy it for its simplicity and straightforwardness- a good option to quicken those dozy early morning hours.  Additionally, we extended a warm welcome to Victoria, the newest member of our AEP class. I hope she enjoys her time here! With that, we rewrote the Essay 1 on cement and concrete production- this time around without referring back to our previous writings.  At first, recalling specific words and phrases used in the sample essay, such as "the resulting mixture," and mastering sentence structures with transition words at various points proved to be quite hectic. However, with time, some of these elements started to come more naturally.  I think one of my writing mistakes was attempting to recall my previous words verbatim, rather than incorporating my refreshed understand...

Scrabble or Scramble?- Chloe Lloveras- Blog 4 T2- AEP 10

This week's AEP was definitely out of the ordinary even though I'd previously said that things were finally getting back to normal in my last blog. Ironic, right? Starting on Monday, AEP class started quickly with "Waffle." Naboni had the pen (AKA the magic wand) and swiftly accomplished it with the help of class, which included Victoria! A welcome addition to the class who got the chance to jump in head-first with essay writing, which was yet again another version of the cement and concrete essay. Third time's the charm I guess!  Writing the essay was definitely a lot faster than my previous versions. It's probably because my brain is so used to all of the information already that I can even picture it now as I type. Haha! The next day started off as what I had thought was a catastrophe! I was late coming into class because of the elementary's field trip that day. Since I ride the school service van, I was one of the last ones to be picked up (along with ...

"Embrace yourself " - Haziq - Blog 5

On Monday morning , we started off with out warm up game Waffle and we managed to solved it within the first 5 minute . Though I missed squardle , it was a good switched up so that we don't get tired of Squardle in the future. What better way to start of a Monday morning other than writing essay .We had to write the same as essay as we did before which was the production of both concrete and cement .Supposedly , it is supposed to be easier since this is my third time writing it but I decide to  change a little bit but it ended badly because I did a lot of mistake .I learned my lesson.Near the end of the period , Miss announced that we are having the vocab quiz tomorrow.I was shocked because usually she would give a week to memorize the words so I was scared incase I wasn't able to memorize the words by tomorrow. I studied the words late around 9 because I overslept and I honestly could not remember anything. It was most probably because I was so tired to the point I fell asleep o...

A surprise addition! - AEP 10 - BLOG #5 - Term 2 - JANEK SMIGIELSKI

The lingering stress from the STEM congress has finally disappeared, and the pressure of looming assignments has been successfully suppressed. Writing this blog doesn't feel like a daunting task anymore, no longer buried under a mountain of assignments. This blog is a vibrant collection of the week's happenings, and let me tell you, this week has been anything but ordinary—breaking away from the monotonous cycle. Let's dive into the excitement! A Surprise Addition – Another New Student!?!? As I step into the classroom, familiar faces surround me, but one catches my eye— a new girl, a fresh addition to the AEP class. Each time months pass, I see the desks and chairs filling up with more excitement! Victoria, a Colombian girl, has graced us with her presence. She's friendly, and luckily, her English is pretty good, making interaction a breeze. On her first day, we engaged in an activity to get her acquainted with our routine. After a quick warm-up, we jumped into the acti...

Aleena Imran - T2 BLOG #5 - Grade 8

I honestly can’t believe it’s already the second blog of 2024! Honestly, time just goes fast and you don’t even realize until you’re sitting again to write another AeP blog. And it’s already the fifth blog of the term or should I say the last blog of the 2nd trimester . Like how, didn’t we just start school yesterday? It’s actually scary to the point that you realize, the next blog will be weeks later, in the final trimester. Enough talking about how fast time flies, let’s start talking about my days in aep  Curious to see what happens? Come with me as we reveal every single detail about my day (s)!  Without further ado, let the chaos begin !^_^ Jan 22, 2024 - A science worksheet?! Squardle, ah, our mortal enemy. How dare you come upon us again? It is that we struggle almost every time we do it. Not really when the word count is below fifty. Though the first fifty words are quite easy, the last few always kill us. At this point we would make up random words, like ...

DOMESTICATED! - Blog 2.5 - Aire M.

With the introduction of clubs, the upcoming musical, STEM Congress, Field Trip, and maybe finally our class' girl's sleepover? It's been too long. Anyways, with all the different and exciting events happening and approaching, one might find it easy to momentarily forget the existence of AEP. However, with Miss Disa back and her board working, it isn't as easy as you think... JANUARY 22, 2024 - Squaredle Trouble      There's no better way to start an AEP lesson than with our favourite warm up, Squaredle . Kuk was granted the responsibility and burden of being the one in charge of The Pen . It felt like Hyeono was controlling the board, however, as he kept grabbing Kuk's arm to force him. Kuk was struggling to spell simple words like shirt and sword, making it no wonder Hyeono kept forcing Kuk, even if there is no valid reason to resort to forcing.      Sid, as usual, kept saying "bonus ducks" whenever we got a bonus word. On the topic of bonus words, ...

First Blog of 2024! // Mysha M - Blog 4

And we're back! Welcome to the first blog of 2024, with many more to come. Ah, don't you just savor the frantic taste of late-night cramming? No? Well, let's get this over with. We spent the first few AEP's of the year with substitutes, due to Miss Disa's trip abroad. During that time, we answered two seatworks, one about unit 9, and the other an exam practice. Overall, nothing too hefty.  Alright, it's Monday and Miss is back. There was no time for dilly-dallying. Unfortunately, Miss Disa's laptop was MIA, meaning we were unable to do any work with the board. But that was okay. After spending the majority of the time rechecking our previous seatwork (which I had brilliantly forgotten at home), we began a traditional vocab quiz. Since we lacked in a functioning board, we couldn't do a spin-the-wheel thing. I think it kinda made a difference in how I preformed, as I got a score worse than normal. That, or maybe because I didn't study. We started the...

AEP-Blog #8

NEW YEAR, NEW BLOG!!! Starting of the year, for the first week we didn't have an official AEP lesson since Ms Disa was out of the country. So, we were given 2 assignments. One was a word puzzle containing the words for vocab quiz unit 9, and the other one were worksheets that were  about the topic of communication. For the word puzzle we had to find the words and also define them. I was only able to finish that one since the other one was quite challenging, especially to finish it in one sitting. I continued the other one the next day and unfortunately was also unable to finish it because I wasn't quite sure how to answer some of the last questions. Ms Disa came back to school the next week, and she said she couldn't take it easy on us since we missed 2 weeks worth of class. Therefore starting our lesson by reviewing for vocab quiz 9. I revised by rereading my word puzzle worksheet, since it contained the words that are in this topic that I then defined at the bottom of th...

Back on track?- Meral- AEP 10- Blog 4

This term is hands down my busiest, packed with assignments and school events. Juggling through all this is honestly tough, hence the aptly titled blog. Hopefully, things get back on track and I regain my motivation and improve myself in several aspects. On a positive note, I'm pleased with the productivity of another two weeks in AEP class. On January 8th, AEP classes had resumed with an unexpected announcement. The weekend prior, Miss Disa had assigned us two essay writing tasks to complete the upcoming week. Initially, when I received the notification, I thought it was just an early heads-up. However, when Miss Disa didn't show up on Monday, it became apparent that we would have a substitute teacher.  For the remainder of the period, I shifted my focus on one of the essays. At first glance, Essay 1 seemed simpler, as everything I needed to include was clearly labeled, leaving little room for further analysis. The topic revolved around the process of cement production and how...

Surprise!- Chloe Lloveras- Blog 3 T2- AEP 10

The first week back to AEP class started out as quite a doozy! To the surprise of many, Miss Disa was absent! Because of this, the following few sessions turned out to be quite interesting. On January 8, we went straight into essay writing. We were supervised by Sir Whey, who combined us with the Filipino students to stay in our grade 10 classroom. Because of this setup, we, unfortunately, couldn't play any word games. Nonetheless, it led to a productive session because I managed to finish 1 of the 2 essays assigned (the one about cement and concrete production) by the end of the period.  The next day we were met with a different substitute teacher- Miss Jonna. The entire 2 sessions were dead silent as we were all anxious for the spelling bee she'd be giving later in the day. In total, we saw her for 4 periods that day. Wow!  In the meantime though, we answered the crossword Miss Disa sent us about the next set of vocabulary words (unit 9) we'd have a quiz on next week. I f...

Don't leave us Miss - Haziq-4th blog

Happy late new years everyone , a lot has happened for the past few weeks and in this blog , I am here to recap everything and without further ado , lets begin! During the first week , I myself could not believe i’m saying this but Miss Disa was absent . Shocking, right ? I myself was also shocked because Miss Disa was never absent regardless if she's sick or not , she would still go to school. With That being said , Miss Disa also left us with a couple essay and which afterwards when we are done , we are allowed to play wordle games. However , this was not possible since we just stayed in the class with the other student who took filipino. During the 1 period , i was able to finish 1 of the essay which is about the production of concrete. On the next day , we were joined by Miss Jonna… as our substitute teacher. Luckily for us , Miss Disa prepared a word search to make sure that we are not bored for the whole 2 periods. During the first period , I was able to finish the other es...
