A surprise addition! - AEP 10 - BLOG #5 - Term 2 - JANEK SMIGIELSKI

The lingering stress from the STEM congress has finally disappeared, and the pressure of looming assignments has been successfully suppressed. Writing this blog doesn't feel like a daunting task anymore, no longer buried under a mountain of assignments. This blog is a vibrant collection of the week's happenings, and let me tell you, this week has been anything but ordinary—breaking away from the monotonous cycle. Let's dive into the excitement!

A Surprise Addition – Another New Student!?!?

As I step into the classroom, familiar faces surround me, but one catches my eye— a new girl, a fresh addition to the AEP class. Each time months pass, I see the desks and chairs filling up with more excitement! Victoria, a Colombian girl, has graced us with her presence. She's friendly, and luckily, her English is pretty good, making interaction a breeze. On her first day, we engaged in an activity to get her acquainted with our routine. After a quick warm-up, we jumped into the activity. I believe she had a blast, and it's always fantastic to welcome new students. Here's to hoping for more to join our lively crew!

Essays: Not Exactly My Cup of Tea

Despite entering the lesson with high spirits, I was destined to slip up on something—usually either the warm-up or the essay itself. This time, fatigue got the best of me, and I wasn't feeling my usual self. I didn't invest much effort into the essay, opting to spill out as much information as I could. Unfortunately, the grade I received wasn't stellar. But hey, I'm not too worried because I'm confident I'll do better in the next one!

Scrabble to the Rescue!

During our double period, the looming vocabulary test announced a week before slipped my mind entirely until the last minute. Haziq confronted me, asking if I had reviewed, and with an honest yet nervous "no," I admitted my lapse. Panicking, I whipped out my phone and began cramming until the warm-up game concluded. However, to my relief, Miss made a surprise announcement that the quiz would be postponed to the following week, and instead we'll have a game of scrabble. I sighed with relief, reclining on a chair alongside my teammates Chloe and Haziq. The game was laid-back, and, thanks to Chloe's luck and skill, we emerged victorious!

Overall, the week was subtly intriguing, not overly jam-packed but filled with charm. I'm hopeful that the coming weeks will bring even more excitement to the class. As always, until next time, my brothers and sisters!

AEP BLOG 3.1 - Summer Rose S. Valdez

The past couple weeks have been a whirlwind of maps and musicals, and it's quite fun.          March 5, 2025 - I Went on A Vacation...Somewhere      We began with a unique warmup this time.  By turns, we all had to say a new place on the map.  Each person has to retrace the steps of all the previous and so on.  I did not do well, but I didn't jot down notes of everyone's locations on my notebook anyway.  It was a memory game.  Afterwards, Miss taught us how one can remember things by remembering a place they visit often - by associating the different keywords with different objects or areas.     After that, we moved on to worksheets.  These worksheets involved maps and places and tenses.  For some reason, I forgot the difference between the past tenses.  Thankfully, though, I remembered what passive tense was.  Simple English fundamentals like types of...
