Anis' AEP Diaries 2.5 - Sentimental and Growing Up

 Season 2 : Episode 5 🎀

Thursday, February 15th 2024

In the midst of a crazy maze towards the end of term two, numerous signs have emphasized on the importance of taking a break.

Nothing more, nothing less, we jogged our brains by playing squardle in which surprisingly we had found multiple bonus words, yeay! I am pretty sure that we have gone through enough word games to be granted the title of “master of English” – I am not joking.

Our recent class in AEP this Wednesday could be categorized as wrap up and zip your luggage class as we are finally accumulating and appling all the acquired skills in previous lessons. Other than the fact that the essay we had written completely obliterated our precious 15 minutes as everyone in the class had an existential crisis, I particularly enjoyed it. All thanks to Ms. Disa though, she shone through the dark and sprinkled some wisdom which comforted our anxious selves. She had mentioned that it is truly a normal event and you do NOT need to call 911 for it.

Ms. Disa had given us the task to write a letter expressing our passions on why we should be taken as the role we offered. I figured out that in this era of uncertainty, us students shall be fully prepared to encounter future events. If you ask how, it could be answered through being flexible. Though originally, I had wanted to be a psychologist, I figured that it was maybe time that I keep my options open. As a result of this, I had written to “fashion designer” which would truly be a backup if things don’t work out in the future.

Writing about it has cleared the fog surrounding my passion about it. It may seem trivial, but with my utmost dedication to preserve my culture’s traditional textile, I finally translated it properly. See, these kinds of topics are often talked and pondered about, but never internalized through. Most of the time, career talks are hypothetical but the task helped me in delving deeper into the roots of my interest.

A random input, I will actually miss the classical music in AEP lessons. Although sometimes when the super extra violin ones come through and it makes me feel like I’m in a battle zone, it has become a core memory. Thank you Ms. Disa for everything (tears in my eyes a little bit). In a nutshell, these past few lessons have really made me appreciate more of what I have in the present.

  1. How can you not feel the passion in Vivaldi's violin? ... I grew up in a house full of opera..imagine..OMG how I hated it, but my love of Rennaisance music is mainly due to my mother's influence. But opera at 6am is my limit, I do not do that. Vivaldi on the other hand🤣

The past couple weeks have been a whirlwind of maps and musicals, and it's quite fun.          March 5, 2025 - I Went on A Vacation...Somewhere      We began with a unique warmup this time.  By turns, we all had to say a new place on the map.  Each person has to retrace the steps of all the previous and so on.  I did not do well, but I didn't jot down notes of everyone's locations on my notebook anyway.  It was a memory game.  Afterwards, Miss taught us how one can remember things by remembering a place they visit often - by associating the different keywords with different objects or areas.     After that, we moved on to worksheets.  These worksheets involved maps and places and tenses.  For some reason, I forgot the difference between the past tenses.  Thankfully, though, I remembered what passive tense was.  Simple English fundamentals like types of...
