Mysha, it wasn't over 400. - Blog 1.3 - Aire M.

Hello! Welcome to another blog by me :) Since I was absent for a few days last week, I missed AEP, so this is technically my 2nd blog. While people were writing their 2nd blogs, I started reading them (the seniors' mostly) and I learned a lot. Did you know 75% of the population is afraid of speaking to other people? I am not, but I become scared when I go to the front of the class and know 18 pairs of eyes are on me, I struggle to do the thing I do a bit too much, speak. (I am a very talkative person, I'm sorry.)

I also learned how to improve my blog, and that you can add photos? I noticed that a lot of the photos were aesthetic so I got this one from Pinterest. Isn't it pretty? I also learned I don't have to make these blogs so short, it can also become really deep and I can really express my feelings.

Speaking of checking other's blogs, when I went back to my first blog, I saw that I had... wait what? 104 views?! I didn't know I was so famous! I guess it's because I'm the very first one to post here on Blogger, so a lot of people saw it when they first opened the website.

Ok, now for something related to what we actually did this week.

MONDAY: AUG. 14, 2023

This morning it rained really hard so Miss decided it was Scrabble day! She said it was also because she is lacking sleep so she couldn't teach the class or have to vocab quiz. Me and Aleena have been preparing for the vocab quiz for the past few days, while in comparison most of us in AEP have barely reviewed anything and were studying last minute. They're so lucky.

We were separated into 2 groups.
Those in group 1 were: Me (Aire), Adelia, Aleena, Hyeono, and Rayan.
Those in group 2 were: Mysha, Kuk, Hyeonseo, Summer, Zahrah and Sid.

For the first period, my group (group 1) did Griddle while group 2 did Scrabble.
Since there is 2 groups, whoever's group got the highest points in Griddle would win... nothing. It was more of bragging rights and pride for whoever won. Even if it was friendly competition, of course we all still did our best.

I remember me and Adelia racking our brains thinking of stuff, while Hyeono tried random words and Aleena and Ryan fought over who stands where. While we struggled to find words that worked, Mysha kept trying to sneak a peak on how many points we got, so she would aim to have more. At the end of the period I kept telling my group-mates to submit it (so the score would be saved) but last-minute they were trying something completely different. Eventually we had to put all the words all over again because Miss Disa thought we submitted it even if we didn't (oh well). Our final score was 251.

In the second period, we switched. Group 2 had Griddle while my group (group 1) did Scrabble. While I suffered getting mostly consonants, Hyeono suffered from always getting vowels, Adelia and I kept changing letters, all of us struggled with making words (except Hyeono), and Rayan just watched (he was teamed up with Hyeono). While we were doing that, Mysha kept asking us clues to was our score was. It went like this:

                                             Mysha: "Is it over 400?"
                                             Us: "No"
                                             Mysha: "Over 300?"
                                             Us: "Yes"
Adelia: "No don't listen to them! Listen to me!"
Mysha: "Ok *snaps fingers* goal 400"

Of course, since Mysha is Mysha, group 2 won. Nothing is surprising there. Miss Disa told me she could just let Mysha teach the class at this point. #GirlBoss

Anyway, I had a lot of fun today, and I really hope the vocab test goes well tomorrow.

Hmm... you know what? It will probably not.

TUESDAY: AUG. 15, 2023

Some of us were still getting our things for AEP, so when we got to Miss Disa's class, they were already halfway through today's Waffle. I think we finished it with 2 tries left. After that, we did some seat works. Since we had game day yesterday (Scrabble and Griddle) miss told us we needed to catch up a lot. She told us not to rush and that it wasn't a race because she knew well that the seatworks definitely needed 2 periods, even if we only had one.

She also said the vocab quiz would be moved to August 26, the day we have make-up classes. I bet that pretty much everyone will either not study at all or study last minute (Hyeono and Kuk were studying last minute today). However I bet us girls will be studying a lot for it (since they got pretty good times in the match feature in our leaderboard for the AEP quiz in Quizlet).

The rest of the period was chill. It was just us listening to music while doing seatworks in silence, with the occasional question or Hyeono needing the dictionary for the word "invalidate". He should know that word though, as it just so happens to be not only in the seatwork but also in the vocab quiz. Invalidate means to disapprove of an argument; to void, nullify, or overturn.

Anyways, that was pretty much all we did today. Sure, we were productive, but I feel like there isn't much to say. Oh well.

Ok and that's the end of my blog! Whew that was a workout typing. I also changed it a few times since I wasn't content on how it was written, so some stuff may have changed since you last checked.
If you actually read the whole blog, congrats! You get a cookie: 🍪 Thanks for reading!

But hey! That was just a theory, a GAME THEORY! And I'll see you in another blog everyone.

By the way here's today's Waffle. (August 15 2023)

IM THE MAP! - Janek - Blog 2 - T3 - AEP 10

Although maps have always held a peculiar charm for me, a fascination sparked during childhood by watching episodes of Dora the Explorer and her indispensable map, my relationship with them has evolved. Previously, a map was a guide to travelling to places, a tool for discovering new café locations on trips, or simply a way to marvel at rather weird corners of the globe. However, my recent academic assignments have altered my perception of maps, making them less of an object of intrigue and more a source of stress. Essays have made maps worse! Before, engaging with a map never entailed writing an essay. If my father discussed a historical map, I’d happily delve into a verbal explanation rather than penning an analysis. But now, as a student in an Advanced English Program, essays have become a standard expectation. Tackling these assignments has been a significant challenge, turning my once enjoyable encounters with maps into a draining task. It’s clear now that the essays, not my exhau...

Miss Disa is back! - AEP 10- BLOG#4- JANEK

Now that the exams have finally concluded and the stress has lifted, thanks to the break and the high AEP spirit, it seems inevitable that a blog post is in order! The past weeks have been some of the most unusual and unpredictable I've ever experienced in AEP. With a few new faces, Miss Disa's absence, and sudden activities, let's delve into the latest updates on AEP. A Sudden Disappearance? On January 7, just a day before AEP's classes resumed, I felt a sense of fear. Fear that I might have forgotten something, a feeling I often experience. Despite this, I had to enter the class with confidence. However, my expectations took an unexpected turn. Miss Disa was nowhere to be seen. She had apparently left for the UK, and has not yet arrived in the Philippines. This had left many of us  confused, yet simultaneously relieved. No work, no stress! All we had to do was sit in the Filipino class doing nothing. Initially, that's what we thought, until a notification popped u...

Nurin’s AEP Adventure (Term 3 #1)

Hey blog!!! Under some ciscumstances, I have relapsed into my old habits of procrascination and I’m really not proud of that :,) But that’s okay, I’m still in progress and of course I’m gonna have ups and downs. Embracing any chance to change myself for the better, always. Anyways, IT’S TERM 3 ALREADY?!?!? My my, time flies like a speed jet to space. I’m like a leap away from graduating and that thought scares me, in an exciting way. I cannot even imagine yet what the future holds for me and I’m eager to find out. For now, nothing much is going on except for preparations of the musical production on March 9th. So I’ve just been really busy with dance trainings and rehearsals here and there. Expectations are really high for the Grade 12 so we have to give it our best and perform to our fullest potential.  I have been putting off works in the last moments of previous term. I got my Cambridge exam result and it brought me back down to my dark pit, I never want to get out of there like...
