AEP T2 BLOG 4 - Summer Rose S. Valdez

New year, new continuous loop of sighing as my weary fingers hover over my keyboard whilst my thoughts remain empty.  It has been nearly a full year of doing this repeatedly, yet the blank digital page of nothingness intimidates me yet again every time it glares back at me.  As I experience this phenomenon for the first time in the year of 2024, I am suddenly hit with a new wave of nostalgia.  Along with that nostalgia comes a sense of determination to make the blogs this year better than what I have ever done before.  And to that sentiment, I say, challenge accepted.  Let's do this.

January 15 - Straight Into Action

Now that our magnificent AEP teacher, Miss Disa, is back in school, we're back in action.  Straight into action.  For you see, without any sort of delightful word game warmup, we were instantly hit with the usual vocabulary quiz tradition.  Although it wasn't as "usual" this time.  Due to the fact that the wearied smart board was unusable for that day, the aspect of having a wheel be spun for the vocabulary quiz was out of the picture.  An exciting way to begin the year, isn't it?  Writing the answers to the questions vocalized by the teacher was not usual in AEP.  But I liked it, fresh and new.  It's a new year after all.

January 16 - "Zu- What Now?"

The second meeting of the year surely started off immensely unexpected.  We won the Contexto game in four words.  Four.  Although i'm unsure as to who uttered the word, "kindness," they really surprised me.  Whether or whether not they were cheating, I assure you it took me aback.  Thankfully, we were able to squeeze in yet another warmup game.  Ah, Wordle.  An old friend I missed seeing.  Of course we completed the game with ease.

Answering worksheets is not easy.  At a first glance, it's simple looking nature may fool you.  As you continue answering questions, doubts start clouding your mind.  Frantically searching through text excerpts for answers only to end up having to do it all over again.  The true nature of worksheets.  That is why I think rechecking our answers and discussing about the matter is crucial in learning, especially in this subject.

Whilst rechecking the multiple choice part, we stumbled across an unfamiliar name.  Ultimately, our puzzled intuition for the word lead to a few peoples' exalted loquacity in putting our class in a state of anticipation.  It was an unexpected yet amusing encounter, though.  I could not help but titter a bit.  Having the questions in the seatwork that used to be oh-so confusing be cleared up in discussion has widened my horizons and improved my discernment in test-taking.  In my opinion, one of AEP's greatest strengths is teaching you how to understand and answer exams.

The week of Advanced English Practices since Miss Disa's arrival has no doubt been a wild ride.  It is unbelievable to think that this year has just begun.  All the new, yet exciting encounters in the past few days have opened my eyes.  You never know what you'll stumble across in life.  What truly is important is being able to take something out of every encounter, every new adventure.  It seems intimidating yet thrilling, doesn't it?  That's life.

Together, let us venture through the AEP journey and enlighten ourselves with every new experience.  What will we bump into next?

AEP BLOG 3.1 - Summer Rose S. Valdez

The past couple weeks have been a whirlwind of maps and musicals, and it's quite fun.          March 5, 2025 - I Went on A Vacation...Somewhere      We began with a unique warmup this time.  By turns, we all had to say a new place on the map.  Each person has to retrace the steps of all the previous and so on.  I did not do well, but I didn't jot down notes of everyone's locations on my notebook anyway.  It was a memory game.  Afterwards, Miss taught us how one can remember things by remembering a place they visit often - by associating the different keywords with different objects or areas.     After that, we moved on to worksheets.  These worksheets involved maps and places and tenses.  For some reason, I forgot the difference between the past tenses.  Thankfully, though, I remembered what passive tense was.  Simple English fundamentals like types of...

Blog 3.1 - moving too fast? - huda g11

From juggling multiple homework and exams to participating in the musical, parliament, varsity and maintaining a social life, the days seem to blur together in a relentless stream of busyness. It's easy to get caught up in the chaos and lose track of time, which left me constantly feeling like having to keep on picking myself up again to start the next new thing. Despite the chaotic nature of this school year, it's important to take a moment to pause and give ourselves a small break. I think that is where AEP comes in line. With the moderate pace of learning new vocabulary, which I have found to be very useful considering I've passed by many familiar vocabs as I go on with my studies ehehehe, AEP gives me a sense of pause to my hustling life with its conversation-filled lessons incorporated with productive discussions on the words as well as the inclusion of what I would see it as “old-style” learning. The idea of bringing back the usual norm before covid of ‘pen and pape...

i stopped counting the blogs at dis point

Ah boy here we go again Another week, another blog about random stuff. Holy hell everything moves so fast that I feel like I could take a nap and suddenly miss 21 different events. it's a little odd when you get pulled out of your usual schedule and are forced to do a practice exam but like 'they' say: "practice makes perfect." also been rewatching RVB, kinda sad cuz Rooster Teeth decided in a Hail Mary attempt to earn some of that sweet moolah that they should make a large majority of their shows paywalled on yt and you have to use the inconsistent official Rooster Teeth website that is absolutely plagued with stunky add that no one wants. yeah more ads than YOUTUBE ,  AND THEY'RE ALL UNSKIBBABLE BECAUSE OF COURSE THEY ARE AND YOU GET 4 OF THEM EVERY EPISODE (some at the start and then some midroll ads). I know it is to push people to join their site and subscribe to FIRST but Oh ho hoh man... that is a level above despicable.
