AEP T2 BLOG 3 - Summer Rose S. Valdez

 

            I can't believe it is already time for the third blog of the second term, and possibly the last blog of the year.  Time flies fast, doesn't it?  As hard and stressful trimester 2 was in other subjects,  AEP has felt the same.  It feels like a breath of fresh air, after long days filled with numbers and scientific terms.  Without further ado, let us end this year's last blog with a bang!


            November 28 - It's Okay To Lose

    Our lesson of AEP began with something we didn't expect - we lost at Quordle.  It was unexpected, for we have mastered the art of this game, or so we thought.  The words this time were quite difficult, leaving us perplexed until the game over screen.  Regardless of the outcome, it was a fun warmup.

    We then started studying the next vocabulary unit.  As per usual, everyone was assigned some words from the next vocab unit and had to learn their meanings.  The words I got assigned were "avail," and, "crony".   I found those words easy to understand, and am eager to take advantage of them in the future.  I also learned new things hearing my classmates answer questions of their own words, and found them very useful.


        The blog this time extremely short, as we only got to have one lesson of AEP that week.  But that doesn't mean you can't learn anything new, because I definitely did.  On top of that, we got humbled by a game we thought we had already conquered.  You truly never can be perfect, no matter how hard you try.  It may sound depressing, but it also means you will never reach your limit.  Never feel as if you have reached your peak, for you can always go beyond that.  I can't believe it's the last blog this year, so much has happened since the start of Grade 8.  There were many ups and downs (mostly downs), but in the end, it does not matter, for we are approaching a new year, a fresh start.  Life is nothing without the negative aspects, like rollercoasters are nothing without the thrilling drops.  The ups in life make the downs worth it.

Short. Sweet. Simple! - Chloe Lloveras- Blog 1 T1- AEP10

      Back at it again! The new school year has begun and AEP along with it. But this year, it comes with a twist: a much more jam-packed schedule and more essay-writing. Did I mention that the vocabulary quizzes are back and that blogs will be more frequent now? No? Well, you're in for a treat!      We hadn't even met for the first session yet, but we were already juggling assessments like a syllabus quizlet, a "what's your English level?" test, and even a knowledge quiz about IELTS writing task one, something I haven't encountered before. When our first meeting did commence, it wasn't until a week later due to the heavy rainfall and strong winds so classes were canceled. As you might've guess, we were already behind and AEP hadn't even begun yet!  Before starting, Miss Disa established the basics for the new school year: 1. AEP BLOG 3.1 - Summer Rose S. Valdez

           The past couple weeks have been a whirlwind of maps and musicals, and it's quite fun.          March 5, 2025 - I Went on A Vacation...Somewhere      We began with a unique warmup this time.  By turns, we all had to say a new place on the map.  Each person has to retrace the steps of all the previous and so on.  I did not do well, but I didn't jot down notes of everyone's locations on my notebook anyway.  It was a memory game.  Afterwards, Miss taught us how one can remember things by remembering a place they visit often - by associating the different keywords with different objects or areas.     After that, we moved on to worksheets.  These worksheets involved maps and places and tenses.  For some reason, I forgot the difference between the past tenses.  Thankfully, though, I remembered what passive tense was.  Simple English fundamentals like types of...
