Anis' AEP Diaries E3 - Jumping on Lily Pads

 Tuesday. 17th October 2023, 6:43pm

Skipping off blog #2 is a guilt – but I’m starting anew with blog #3!

Won. Wonky. Weird.

As long as I know in myself that I’m trying my hardest, I know I have won. Recently, my experience in school has been wonky. It’s quite ironic how even in my senior year, it could still be rocky, especially in terms of separating my personal life from my school life. Because truth be told, the line gets very blurry sometimes. Within these past few weeks, I find myself facing a stack of works to be completed whilst juggling AS Cambridge retake revision as well. #tough

I love word games. Out of line but I just really needed to put that one out hahahaha.

Anyway, in all seriousness, I’ve begun to sit with the uncomfortableness and embrace the weirdness of it. By this, I mean getting lost along the way – given one of the examples, which is my relationship with AEP. It has been inconsistent but of course, that is mainly due to my lack of engagement with the class. However, the past is the past. The biggest lesson that I learnt from this experience is that you will experience bad seasons, but it’s up to you to gather yourself again and start fresh.

Experiences in AEP

Very contrary to my first few weeks in AEP, my progress has deteriorated. I guess you could say that senior year is slapping me in the face and that I’m at the brink of burning out. However, I could do nothing but to keep pushing through and remind myself of how close I am to graduating and that soon all will be worth it. Every sweat, tear, effort and time.

For the past few weeks, Ms. Disa has changed the rhythm of our learning in ways that our syllabus is future-focused. What this means is that we have picked up more knowledge on job applications, job interviews, dress code, presentations and resume making – all the big girl stuff. So far, I have really found the resume making beneficial because all this while I've only watched my parents have one, but I have never really understood the details of it.

To just put it here how fast time flies – it  was 20 days ago that I entertained everyone with my “Hobbies and Interests presentation” and it was 27 days ago that we sat for our midterms exam. Shoutout to padlet for storing my records!

Biggest takeaway
The real world is harsh. The best thing to do is to cry and pick yourself up again and again.

Dearest memories in this episode
1. Battling my inner demons to commit on school works
2. Having the absolute fun dressing up barbie, whilst also learning the technicalities of dress codes for job interviews

AEP BLOG 3.1 - Summer Rose S. Valdez

The past couple weeks have been a whirlwind of maps and musicals, and it's quite fun.          March 5, 2025 - I Went on A Vacation...Somewhere      We began with a unique warmup this time.  By turns, we all had to say a new place on the map.  Each person has to retrace the steps of all the previous and so on.  I did not do well, but I didn't jot down notes of everyone's locations on my notebook anyway.  It was a memory game.  Afterwards, Miss taught us how one can remember things by remembering a place they visit often - by associating the different keywords with different objects or areas.     After that, we moved on to worksheets.  These worksheets involved maps and places and tenses.  For some reason, I forgot the difference between the past tenses.  Thankfully, though, I remembered what passive tense was.  Simple English fundamentals like types of...
