Blog 3.3 - The end? Already?

It's kind of crazy how this is my last grade 8 blog.

Well, now I'm freed from procrastinating on these things! Woo! (heheheheh)

Miss allotted us 15 minutes to solve a 68 (I think?) word squaredle. Surprisingly, we killed it. Although we weren't able to finish it within the time, Miss let gave us a bit more time due to how close we were. Good start to the week.

Next up, vocab quiz. Miss gave us several exercises to revise before the actual quiz. Somehow, I got my first word wrong, levity. That made me feel like leaping off a building. Fortunately Miss allowed me to revive myself by answering 2 more words, which I got correct. I am still immensely disappointed in myself for getting that wrong. Seriously? Levity? Are you stupid?

Today was a game day! We played the game that we did a few weeks ago, but with a twist: It was individual, and the people who got the longest words would snag the point. The letters were selected by us. Miss would ask us for a vowel or a consonant, and whatever we said would be the letter. There were times where the consonants and vowels were very unbalanced (or maybe I'm just bad). I did tragically worse than I did before, getting a pitiable 1 point. Yeah this week was definitely not my week. Told you, I was never good at unscrambling-anagram type of things.

Wow.. that's it?

At the beginning of this school year I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy AEP8. In fact, in the first few weeks I was debating embracing my filipino blood. Alas, I stayed, and I am so very pleased with my decision. Although this year was really different compared to last year, Filiz left, the class expanded, I still didn't enjoy it any less. Entering each class is like breath of fresh air compared to the stress and pressure of the major academics. AEP is always bustling with life, be it in silly banter, challenging vocab quizzes, or competitive games. I am so grateful for having a subject like AEP, with a witty and clever teacher like Miss Disa.

I'm going to think of this school year very dearly. I'm sure we all will.

AEP BLOG 3.1 - Summer Rose S. Valdez

The past couple weeks have been a whirlwind of maps and musicals, and it's quite fun.          March 5, 2025 - I Went on A Vacation...Somewhere      We began with a unique warmup this time.  By turns, we all had to say a new place on the map.  Each person has to retrace the steps of all the previous and so on.  I did not do well, but I didn't jot down notes of everyone's locations on my notebook anyway.  It was a memory game.  Afterwards, Miss taught us how one can remember things by remembering a place they visit often - by associating the different keywords with different objects or areas.     After that, we moved on to worksheets.  These worksheets involved maps and places and tenses.  For some reason, I forgot the difference between the past tenses.  Thankfully, though, I remembered what passive tense was.  Simple English fundamentals like types of...
