“Avoiding Rudeness”.

Sometimes when we speak, we fail to recognize or acknowledge the words that come out of our mouth. If you think about it, we speak to communicate – we speak to express. However, there are myriads of aspects that we tend to overlook when doing so which includes our tone and use of language. Admittedly, speaking towards the people who we consider as family and friends my come off as easy, considering that it happens almost like it’s our second nature. Be that as it may, speaking formally towards the people outside of our intermediate circle could pose as a challenge.

Especially in this 21st century where our lives are pretty much dominated by technology, there is an increase use of electronic applications in where we communicate using a digital platform. Given a scenario that we aim to communicate our thoughts to people we do not know, our new lesson taught us how to properly structure our sentence by using modal verbs, Ps and Qs and quantifiers. What this does is that, it reduces the horrible risk of being rude.

There were two major things that made me feel connected to the lesson:

First, it was the fact that we were learning using physical handouts which makes it a more hands-on activity and is very engaging. Prior to the this term, we have been using our digital devices for the most part. This change of pace feels really refreshing and brings me back to when we had lessons in primary school! It’s just really fun being able to annotate the texts and have something we could hold (mostly to fidget with hahaha) while the class goes by.

Secondly, the resurfacing of the Ps and Qs rule. Ever since I was a little girl, my mom is the individual that has positively impacted me in my English language development. With my kindergarten enforcing that all kids shall have the basic level of English language, she was adamant on making sure that I wasn’t only learning the practical part of English, but also the mannerisms that comes with it. I still remember very vividly of this one day in where my class of 15 little kids sat in a circle and shared something we have in mind. Without hesitant, I told the story about the Ps and Qs! To have something I could reminisce back on when I’m learning some big girl stuff makes my inner child extremely happy!

So far, AEP has been really good to me – and most importantly, I have been good to AEP. It really feels as if we are bonding as a class, especially when we all collectively just have these sneaky and cute side comments to share our perspectives when we do a sharing session based on the subtopic we were discussing.

Stay tuned to watch my experience in AEP unfolds as term two of the school year progresses by. I guess I’m closing this blog off by saying, bye bye and jumpa lagi!

And So It Begins...- Chloe Lloveras- Blog 3 T3- AEP 10

Maps have become my new enemy. I know this may sound dramatic, but I really just can't seem to like them. As an artist who loves anything related to colors and drawings, you'd think a map of all things would be right up my alley, but you'd definitely be wrong. The feeling of facing your adversary is like no other- this desperate thirst to defeat them, dying to be quenched. And so it begins... The day before the exam, we played "Squardle," but the joy it gave us upon completion was short-lived as it was replaced by the impending atmosphere of doom looming above us. I felt a pit in my stomach when I walked into the classroom the next morning. But I was prepared...or so I had thought. I only managed to score 87%, which in reality was actually a 77% because Miss Disa added 10 points to help bump up our grades. I barely passed really, but that doesn't matter now. When I had finished taking the exam, all I could think of was that it was finally over. I could relax...

AEP BLOG 3.1 - Summer Rose S. Valdez

The past couple weeks have been a whirlwind of maps and musicals, and it's quite fun.          March 5, 2025 - I Went on A Vacation...Somewhere      We began with a unique warmup this time.  By turns, we all had to say a new place on the map.  Each person has to retrace the steps of all the previous and so on.  I did not do well, but I didn't jot down notes of everyone's locations on my notebook anyway.  It was a memory game.  Afterwards, Miss taught us how one can remember things by remembering a place they visit often - by associating the different keywords with different objects or areas.     After that, we moved on to worksheets.  These worksheets involved maps and places and tenses.  For some reason, I forgot the difference between the past tenses.  Thankfully, though, I remembered what passive tense was.  Simple English fundamentals like types of...
