Miss Aleena! - Blog 2.2 - Aire M.

I'm back mga balakubak!

(Fyi, this is a famous Filipino saying. Balakubak means dandruff, but we just use it since it rhymes.)

Welcome to my wonderful AEP blog! Miss told us that she didn't mind a long blog; she actually liked it. Aleena was ecstatic as she has gone over 700 words already. I was just glad that I could rant talk to my heart's content. I can be really talkative, so these blogs let me just talk about my experiences and thoughts, which I love since I was always interested in the idea of a journal. I've never had the time for it though.

Anyways! This is getting way off topic. And here, I present, my blog!

It's just me rambling.


11/20/23

We kicked things off with a small victory on our belt, demolishing Squaredle as there were only about 5 words left. Since we were so speedy, we did Quordle and cheated by resetting the tab (hehe). After completing 2 Quordle games, we learned vocab #7.

Aleena studied the vocab beforehand, so Miss made her the "teacher," making us call her "Miss Aleena." We did it as usual, 2 words being assigned to each individual. I got the words menial, meaning of lowly and degrading work, and parry, to deflect a move typically with a sword or shield.

After a 10 minute break which I used to review all the words, we had our vocab practice quiz. After vocab, we did Contexto, getting #428 in 53 guesses, being the word "pet." Padlet followed soon after, starting at 2:46.

Overall, a productive day.


11/21/23

AEP was off to a great start, absolutely devouring Quordle in only 4 minutes. Our happiness of completing it that fast was immediately replaced with our anxiousness for vocab quiz #7. I recall Adelia asking me the meaning for the word "ravage," which means to cause destruction.

I was called first, losing my 2 brain cells the moment Miss called my name. "May you spin the wheel please?" I said quietly, my heart banging like a drum in my chest. My word was...

Ravage.

I looked at Adelia, and we both started laughing like maniacs. "Destructive," I told Miss, high-fiving Adelia (thanks for the save girl!! <33). I got another 2 or 3 words, getting them all right, earning myself a perfect 10/10. I am very proud of myself for getting it all perfect, considering I only reviewed for a total of about 30 minutes.

Since there was 35 minutes left until AEP ended, we did a seatwork. I was absent a few times this term, so I had a lot of seatwork to catch up on. I like how AEP seatworks are structured; quite easy yet still a bit confusing and challenging at times.

I'd say this was a good day.

Short. Sweet. Simple! - Chloe Lloveras- Blog 1 T1- AEP10

      Back at it again! The new school year has begun and AEP along with it. But this year, it comes with a twist: a much more jam-packed schedule and more essay-writing. Did I mention that the vocabulary quizzes are back and that blogs will be more frequent now? No? Well, you're in for a treat!      We hadn't even met for the first session yet, but we were already juggling assessments like a syllabus quizlet, a "what's your English level?" test, and even a knowledge quiz about IELTS writing task one, something I haven't encountered before. When our first meeting did commence, it wasn't until a week later due to the heavy rainfall and strong winds so classes were canceled. AEP BLOG 3.1 - Summer Rose S. Valdez

           The past couple weeks have been a whirlwind of maps and musicals, and it's quite fun.          March 5, 2025 - I Went on A Vacation...Somewhere      We began with a unique warmup this time.  By turns, we all had to say a new place on the map.  Each person has to retrace the steps of all the previous and so on.  I did not do well, but I didn't jot down notes of everyone's locations on my notebook anyway.  It was a memory game.  Afterwards, Miss taught us how one can remember things by remembering a place they visit often - by associating the different keywords with different objects or areas.     After that, we moved on to worksheets.  These worksheets involved maps and places and tenses.  For some reason, I forgot the difference between the past tenses.  Thankfully, though, I remembered what passive tense was.  Simple English fundamentals like types of...
