New and Fun!!- NABONI- AEP10- BLOG 5

 Hello there! I hope everyone is doing well. This week in AEP, we had the opportunity to explore some exciting new methods for studying the materials we've learned in the past. On Monday, we learned a new, more effective method for studying vocabulary lessons. Each of us was assigned two or three words and tasked with quickly discovering their meanings. The words I received were "Disperse",  "Venial" and "Esteem." Afterward, we all took a quiz on the vocabulary test website, answering multiple-choice questions related to the words we were assigned. I can say with confidence that this method helped me to better digest the meanings of the words, as I can still recall all of the definitions from the list. This also made it easier for me to prepare for the vocabulary quiz, which was held the following day, on Tuesday!

During the first period, we had a vocabulary test, with the wheel of doom. Fortunately, I managed to get both of my words correct! Following that, we were instructed to create a bar chart based on an essay written by IELTS Liz instead of writing an essay ourselves. The class was divided into Boys vs Girls, and I was teamed up with Meral and Chloe. We did a pretty good job of creating the chart, but unfortunately, the final result was a bit too small. However, the boys did pretty well this time, and their graph closely resembled the one in the question. Great job, boys! Trying out something new was enjoyable, and it was a creative way to keep the class active for a while. The class continued with another fun activity that we didn't expect. Miss Disa had prepared something else for us. The boys and girls were once again split up, but this time Julia joined us! We were given a challenge where one group would describe an abstract painting to the other group, who would then try to draw it as accurately as possible on the smart board. The class was filled with chaos throughout the process and the end results were sort of hilarious, though not so far off from the original painting. 

                 

This is the original vs the paintings we have done on the board. The first one is drawn by the girls and the second one is done by boys. I think both the teams did a pretty good job in both drawing and delivering the instruction. Miss Disa later explained the purpose of the activity was not only to provide us entertainment but also, to teach us how to describe something to other people with clear and coherent words. That's how our class ended after a long, wholesome day.

For the warmups, we played contexto on Monday and squardle on Tuesday. The contexto had left us pretty confused on Monday, as we started with "grape" and we were pretty sure the answer was going to be a fruit for the high score we got. Sadly we weren't able to get the word in time. It was later found out that the word was "cinnamon", which has no apparent connection to grapes. On Tuesday for Squardle, we had to guess 23 words. It seems like everyone is enjoying the game and I hope we can play more in future classes.
