change. - Janek - AEP10 - BLOG #6

The past week unfolded in an unexpected manner, catching many of us in class off guard. It was a departure from the routine, leaving us stunned, akin to the sensation of savoring a warm soup and then stepping out into the cold. This week brought about significant changes, the kind that demanded a momentary pause to absorb it all. Excitement surged within me, a sensation long absent. What were these changes, you might ask?

SQUAREDLE: THE NEW HURDLE

In every aspect, SQUARDLE emerged as the top contender, surpassing its predecessor, Hurdle. While Hurdle had enjoyed class favoritism for a considerable period, Squaredle now claimed the throne. Another wordle-based game, Squaredle proved more engaging than not only Hurdle but also other wordle games. Unlike its mundane counterparts, Squaredle delivered a refreshing gameplay experience, from which I derived genuine pleasure. Hurdle, reminiscent of childhood games, involved arranging letters to form specific words, a task ranging from four to nine letters. The introduction of Squaredle has alleviated the pressure of entering the AEP room, making mornings more enjoyable. It's a game that has injected vitality into my day, signaling that it's time to explore new avenues of enjoyment. Moving on and embracing change, it appears, can indeed be for the better.

DOGO NEWS MAKES A COMEBACK

While routine sessions can be pleasing, the monotony can become tiresome. Miss, adept at adapting to this, by changing various activities to keep things fresh, with DOGO news being a consistent favorite. In moments of extra time or when there's nothing else to do, DOGO becomes our go-to source for intriguing news. It never fails to captivate my attention with fascinating tales, such as female octopuses hurling rocks in aggression or the recent news of individuals using super shoes to break marathon records. Even in these seemingly trivial stories, DOGO manages to divert my mind from the stresses of remaining subjects and pending assignments, providing a comforting escape.

VOCAB IT IS I GUESS

Vocabulary practice stands out as one of the less stressful aspects of AEP. The recent change to adding practice sessions prove effective in accelerating our learning, and the advanced announcement of upcoming sessions reassures us about the time available for preparation. When Miss announces a vocabulary test, my heart maintains its steady rhythm, my eyes remain calm, and my overall demeanor stays collected. It's a relief to find myself less anxious about things beyond my control. A test involving just 20 words seems like a manageable challenge, and I express my gratitude to Miss for maintaining this approach.

ESSAYS ARE GETTING WORSE

The visual overload of bars, with their ups and downs, varied colors, and shading patterns, has strained my eyes. Despite the initial struggle, I pressed on, determined to decipher the prompt and produce the best possible output. The challenge peaked with a bar chart on the board, displaying disorderly bars without discernible patterns. Nevertheless, with a concerted effort, I managed to make sense of it. Giving up was never an option, and while the output may not have been perfect, completing it by the end of the period brought a sense of accomplishment.

In conclusion, another productive week unfolded, with tasks executed efficiently and laughter serving as our reward. The overall experience in AEP was delightful, and I look forward to what future terms have in store. Until next time, goodbye!

And So It Begins...- Chloe Lloveras- Blog 3 T3- AEP 10

Maps have become my new enemy. I know this may sound dramatic, but I really just can't seem to like them. As an artist who loves anything related to colors and drawings, you'd think a map of all things would be right up my alley, but you'd definitely be wrong. The feeling of facing your adversary is like no other- this desperate thirst to defeat them, dying to be quenched. And so it begins... The day before the exam, we played "Squardle," but the joy it gave us upon completion was short-lived as it was replaced by the impending atmosphere of doom looming above us. I felt a pit in my stomach when I walked into the classroom the next morning. But I was prepared...or so I had thought. I only managed to score 87%, which in reality was actually a 77% because Miss Disa added 10 points to help bump up our grades. I barely passed really, but that doesn't matter now. When I had finished taking the exam, all I could think of was that it was finally over. I could relax...

AEP- Blog 3.3

Hello hello hello there! We meet again, for one. last. blog.  Woah, it has been a ride hasn't it. A year sure does go by fast. It seriously felt not that long ago that I had written my first blog of the year. Definitely did not feel like 9 whole months. Reading said blog made realize now that I had nothing to worry about after all. That I have been proven wrong about not having fun in AEP. Sure, the work has gotten a lot tougher and was doubled to what we had last year. But hey, we're in G8 now and that's to be expected, AEP or not. And we still managed to play word games, some old, some new, and challenged ourselves in the best way possible. The seatworks we had DEFINITELY challenged me this year. But I wouldn't say all of them were so bad, only some. I really enjoyed the vocab quizzes. It really did help expand my vocabulary, and now whenever I read a book and encounter a word from one of the quizzes, I get all excited cause I know what it means now. I feel a bit sad...
