Because there has been a long period of time wherein we did not write blogs, I nearly missed this one. Thankfully, I remembered about it whilst going home from the tiring, yet exciting cat show we participated in. I am now writing this blog in a panic, but at least I get to recall what I have learned from the previous week.
October 2 - Valuable Test-Taking Skills
I have always thought that one of the most vital parts of having excellent grades is possessing good test-taking skills. After all, tests, especially exams, make up most of your grade. For the entirety of the first period, we have struggled with Squaredle, often bumping into roadblocks where we can not think of any more words. I am well aware that we have not fully mastered this game yet. Although I miss the games where we easily win in, watching us as a class improve at something we are not good at is very inspiring.
The second lesson was informative and I have learned valuable tips for answering exams. We learned about how English exams are structured and how to answer specific types of questions. I was quite surprised to learn that the answers of the questions are most likely to be arranged in chronological order. I knew that I could use this information in the future for sure.
October 3 - A Chaotic Vocab Quiz
I was very pleased that we managed to beat a Squaredle game. As fun as that was, I found what we did next even more enjoyable. It was finally time for another vocabulary quiz! Although this time, it was very different.
Instead of being called individually, two people had to face each other off and answer one word at a time until one of them got something wrong. I enjoyed watching my classmates trying to outdo each other whilst under immense pressure. The newly created system for this quiz was definitely not perfect. The people who were capable would have very long turns, as they would not get anything wrong. On top of that, if both contestants got their words wrong, it could become a never-ending cycle of them answering/skipping words until one of them got something right.
The system for that vocabulary quiz was rigged and had plenty of loopholes. Despite that, it was very enjoyable for me. Perhaps, the imperfections is what made it enjoyable! The chaotic, unorganized energy is something I never knew I would enjoy so much, but here I am. Sometimes, it just takes one experience to change your perception of something.
Thank you!
