Sigh of relief- Meral- AEP 10- Blog 3

The start of this new week was much more laid-back than I expected, which, given how many hectic tasks we have going on, was a relief. First things first, that very Monday morning we were supposed to have a vocabulary test. Even though I knew all the definitions and sample sentences by heart, I felt a little more practice could enhance my answers, so when I heard the test had been postponed until the next day, I felt some of the pressure lift.

What then did we do? We had a Scrabble game! Woohoo! I'm sure we were all happy to hear Miss Disa remind us that a rainy day called for a scrabble match. We quickly formed a circle around the table and paired off with those sitting next to us. I was teamed with Naboni, and when the round was through, the two of us had won! I think a single word that gave us almost 30 points had a major role in our victory. Not to mention, we got pretty good letters for most of the game. 

We were able to escape the vocabulary quiz with the luck of the rain, but the following morning it made a comeback, this time with two words as opposed to one! But before that, we played the warm-up games Diffle and Wordle as a class. We were able to determine the last word—"alliance"—after just three tries! Wordle also went relatively fast; on our third try, we correctly identified the word "index". 

Upon quickly completing that, our second vocabulary test was to begin in only a matter of seconds! Strangely enough, I found myself becoming a bit nervous than I had the previous time. This was likely due to the fact that I had revised the words more than I had for the first time, leaving me with no other excuse for getting it wrong than sheer forgetfulness. Fortunately, I was able to define "quintessence" and "scrutinize", determine their word class, and give examples of sentences using each. Yay!

Honestly, these vocab exams certainly add to the work we have for class and take up some time from my Sundays, but even just incorporating these into my everyday speaking and writing calls for development. Since it is for a good cost and I appreciate building on my vocabulary, this allows me to push myself farther, rather than just simply wishing I would.

The class then continued with a final essay on the bar graph. Yes, you're right. The graph, which began with our very first essay attempt. This seems to me to be the proper approach in order to advance my writing because there are apparent distinctions to compare between our earlier essays and the most recent one, as one repeats the same content with minimal modifications each time. 

Of course, I still have a long way to go, but it brings me comfort knowing that I'm truly learning from my mistakes rather than continuing to doing what I typically do. Even though I didn't get to 150 words, in retrospect, I believe it to be my best essay for this bar graph. 

When all’s said and done, this week somehow felt lighter presumably because we already accustomed ourselves with the way things go🎵. Thank you for reading and I’m hoping to see you in the next one!
