Practice makes progress!- Meral- AEP 10- Blog 2


Greetings! In this blog, I will cover you on this week's AEP update. Buckle up, for we've reached a high level of productivity. Looking back at the syllabus, I'm sure this will be the normal way of things in this class from now on as I've talked about in my first blog, which makes me both very excited and terrified.

We started class with Diffle as our warm-up game. Within a few minutes time, we guessed the word "escort". I remember all that filled my headspace at that moment was the vocab test. I had a very busy and upsetting weekend so I was only able to memorize the words and their definitions past midnight, when I should've been asleep. 

Anyway, by the time it was my turn to spin the wheel containing the twenty words, the one I dreaded most came out, that being "gibe". I believe it's because I didn't allot enough time nor did I focus on it like I did for the other words. Thankfully, I remembered the meaning, and although not the exact words, Miss Disa seemed satisfied with my response, so all is well. :>>

Afterward, we worked on our essays from last time, attempting to improve the writing with the previously introduced techniques. Although it wasn't anything new, the 15-minute timer wasn't enough for me to discuss some focal points I had in mind. On the bright side, I definitely applied the new learnings and hopefully in my next essay, I'll do better in being concise with words while also touching on significant observations in various graphs.

The following day, we began AEP class with "evil wordle" where it tricks us by occasionally changing the word itself. Surprisingly, in only a few tries, we managed to guess the correct word "clues". Perhaps, it was going easy on new-players. Following on, Miss Disa found a website with plenty of examples on graphs with just the prompts for us to paraphrase. We completed three in total. 

Additionally, Miss Disa taught us the "chunking method" where you divide the parts of a sentence to paraphrase one at a time. Personally, I found this method very convenient and strategic! After all, it provides you with a starting point, which I believe is one of the major struggle for students when composing essays.

Finally we read an article regarding sharks. We each took turns reading two sentences and by the end of the passage, recited a fact. Did you know sharks can hold their breath for an average of 17 minutes! I hope we read more articles on DOGOnews in the upcoming meeting of AEP. It is a great way to wrap up the class. Upon completing our exit tickets, we said our goodbye's to Miss Disa.

All in all, the perfect word to describe this week would be "productive". Every minute of the class was spent learning in one way or another. Thank you for reading and I'm hoping to see you in the next one!

 yet again we do the thing where we type what we remember about the stuff that happened this week. So, there's not much tbh, there isn't much going on other than I picked up EP again since I think I'm suffering withdrawal with notoriety getting taken down and I'm cooking some video I made with someone showcasing some stupid shenanigans. So yeah is fine cruising so far (but so far)

Blog 3.1 - moving too fast? - huda g11

  From juggling multiple homework and exams to participating in the musical, parliament, varsity and maintaining a social life, the days seem to blur together in a relentless stream of busyness. It's easy to get caught up in the chaos and lose track of time, which left me constantly feeling like having to keep on picking myself up again to start the next new thing. Despite the chaotic nature of this school year, it's important to take a moment to pause and give ourselves a small break. I think that is where AEP comes in line. With the moderate pace of learning new vocabulary, which I have found to be very useful considering I've passed by many familiar vocabs as I go on with my studies ehehehe, AEP gives me a sense of pause to my hustling life with its conversation-filled lessons incorporated with productive discussions on the words as well as the inclusion of what I would see it as “old-style” learning.
