AEP Never seems to fail me with more surprises. - Janek -Blog#2 -AEP10

The first blog has been written, and it's been about a week since its deadline, and it's apparent to the class that many things could happen in two sessions. Furthermore, the padlets have also been completed, and reminiscing about them has been awfully pleasant. Knowing that the past me has suffered more than the one currently living in the present is relieving. Although the future remains untold, let's just look further back instead. Anyway, it seems as though the past is an indelible satisfaction to many. In this case, let's indulge in this past and perhaps give our honest opinions on it!

To begin with, we have our resplendent Monday morning with a warm-up game, which, I must say, has changed in a certainly contorted manner. You would never have expected the warm-up games to switch up, but recalling Miss's revelation to advance and make the game choice inconsistent changes the picture. The warmup game on this day would be entitled "diffle", peculiar to say the least, but rather intriguing. The whole class, at least in my eyes, had flared in either excitement or unease. Diffle, although relatively humorous, has people at the edge of their seats filled with anxiety. I, on the other hand, felt worse. Welcoming this newcomer into our routine and thinking it would be difficult is a struggle. Worry was filling our bodies as quick as a broken dam filling out a lake. Soon after giving it a shot, saying easy would be nothing short of an understatement. "Escort" was the word, and achieving such had only taken a couple of tries. It was pure bliss to have a couple minutes to just lay on that class's excruciatingly stiff chairs, gazing at the board, dazzled at all the greens that were displayed. It was only soon after the pain had returned.

This was due to the fact that we had to do a vocabulary test that was assigned the week before. I was capable enough to excel in this test, so it wasn't all bad. Later on, it really did. The supposed work that I had no intention of doing due to my absence was brought up again by Miss. The whole process of writing was a blur, and I'd like to keep it that way, so let's move on to our next session.

On our Tuesday session, a new game came forward. In a game so wicked, the creators had to include the addition of the word "evil" before wordle. Evil Wordle, despicable to the core, however, brings no challenge to beat. It took us about 7 tries to basically play Wordle, but instead the game changes the word each time we add a word. Makes sense? Well, to me, not really. The game wasn't able to exhibit this rule, but I thought it was most lovely as we wouldn't have to go through all of that.

Moving on, we had to practise our IELTS. The word has me on the floor crying. Anytime IELTS is mentioned, the prompts regurgitate from the pits of hell, only to bring eternal suffering to the class. However, the IELTS gods were very generous in their prompts this day; it hasn't provided its utmost difficult ones yet. I believe Miss Disa will have us do those when the time we are ready has finally occurred. This may not be exactly as long as Miss is laying out the fundamentals and giving us lectures such as how to shorten a passage by transforming a noun into a verb. It sounds like something out of a fictitious book, I know. This was, however, quite the opposite, once you've actually understood it.

Soon after having this lesson, we moved on to DOGONEWS to use our spare time. And right as this was announced, we headed straight into the website. One particular title had Miss in awe. It was about the hammerhead shark's ability to maintain their body temperature with the use of their gills. A story that was nothing out of the ordinary, but that nonetheless captivated me. After reading this spectacular story, we proceeded with spitting out the facts we'd learned from the article. Everyone had their chance to do so, and so it took up the rest of our time

. This was the end of our sessions for the week, and it was...very AEP. It was joyous at the same time, filled with pure torture—a classic welcome to AEP—and truly a wonderful experience. I can't wait for another week's worth of these types of experiences. Hopefully this time with a little less essays! Anyway, that would wind up this blog. I hope it was a wonder for those who read it, especially you, miss! Until next time!

IM THE MAP! - Janek - Blog 2 - T3 - AEP 10

Although maps have always held a peculiar charm for me, a fascination sparked during childhood by watching episodes of Dora the Explorer and her indispensable map, my relationship with them has evolved. Previously, a map was a guide to travelling to places, a tool for discovering new café locations on trips, or simply a way to marvel at rather weird corners of the globe. However, my recent academic assignments have altered my perception of maps, making them less of an object of intrigue and more a source of stress. Essays have made maps worse! Before, engaging with a map never entailed writing an essay. If my father discussed a historical map, I’d happily delve into a verbal explanation rather than penning an analysis. But now, as a student in an Advanced English Program, essays have become a standard expectation. Tackling these assignments has been a significant challenge, turning my once enjoyable encounters with maps into a draining task. It’s clear now that the essays, not my exhau...

Miss Disa is back! - AEP 10- BLOG#4- JANEK

Now that the exams have finally concluded and the stress has lifted, thanks to the break and the high AEP spirit, it seems inevitable that a blog post is in order! The past weeks have been some of the most unusual and unpredictable I've ever experienced in AEP. With a few new faces, Miss Disa's absence, and sudden activities, let's delve into the latest updates on AEP. A Sudden Disappearance? On January 7, just a day before AEP's classes resumed, I felt a sense of fear. Fear that I might have forgotten something, a feeling I often experience. Despite this, I had to enter the class with confidence. However, my expectations took an unexpected turn. Miss Disa was nowhere to be seen. She had apparently left for the UK, and has not yet arrived in the Philippines. This had left many of us  confused, yet simultaneously relieved. No work, no stress! All we had to do was sit in the Filipino class doing nothing. Initially, that's what we thought, until a notification popped u...

Nurin’s AEP Adventure (Term 3 #1)

Hey blog!!! Under some ciscumstances, I have relapsed into my old habits of procrascination and I’m really not proud of that :,) But that’s okay, I’m still in progress and of course I’m gonna have ups and downs. Embracing any chance to change myself for the better, always. Anyways, IT’S TERM 3 ALREADY?!?!? My my, time flies like a speed jet to space. I’m like a leap away from graduating and that thought scares me, in an exciting way. I cannot even imagine yet what the future holds for me and I’m eager to find out. For now, nothing much is going on except for preparations of the musical production on March 9th. So I’ve just been really busy with dance trainings and rehearsals here and there. Expectations are really high for the Grade 12 so we have to give it our best and perform to our fullest potential.  I have been putting off works in the last moments of previous term. I got my Cambridge exam result and it brought me back down to my dark pit, I never want to get out of there like...
